Limited Volume Vials
When sample volume is limited, analyte concentration is low, or every microliter of a precious extract must reach the detector, standard autosampler vials leave too much behind. Dead volume at the base of a conventional vial creates a zone where sample pools below the needle tip and never reaches the injection port — a critical problem for trace-level methods, high-value biological extracts, and low-volume clinical specimens where re-extraction is not an option. Limited volume vials, high recovery vials, and total recovery vials are engineered specifically to eliminate this dead volume through tapered, conical, or insert-based designs that concentrate the remaining sample directly under the needle, ensuring consistent injection volumes and maximum analyte recovery down to the last microliter of available sample.
Ibis Scientific stocks a complete selection of limited volume vials, high recovery vials, and total recovery vials in a range of formats to match your instrument, method, and matrix requirements. Our inventory includes fixed insert vials with tapered glass inserts fused directly into the vial base, removable glass and polymer inserts for use in standard 2 mL vials, conical polypropylene and glass vials for aqueous and organic matrices, and micro-volume formats down to 0.1 mL for the most sample-limited applications. Amber and clear glass options are available for light-sensitive analytes, and all formats are offered in configurations compatible with Agilent™, Waters™, Shimadzu™, Thermo Scientific™, and Perkin-Elmer™ autosampler platforms. Whether your laboratory runs trace pesticide residue analysis, forensic toxicology, pharmaceutical impurity profiling, or any method where sample availability is the limiting factor, contact Ibis Scientific for product selection assistance or volume pricing.
